This finally solves the issues with Lion machines. Its a straight-to-the-point tool with a nice interface. It can still be enhanced a little (organization of the thumbnails, resize…), but it works very smoothly now.
Im getting error: "The InfoPlist.strings couldnt be saved in the folder English.Iproj"
I just installed Screens on a second Mac only to realize that all my favorites have been stored in iCloud. This must not happen without my consent! Please respect your customers privacy a little more (I am using this for remote client machines, not at home). This is especially disappointing because the preferences actually include a privacy panel, but without an option to disable this.
If you use Screens on the iPhone/iPad, then this is a definite buy. It works seamlessly with the Screens Connect system allowing for absurdly simple remote control of your computer. One issue with Screens on the Mac, at least as far as Ive found, is it doesnt play well with controlling dual-screen computers. Whereas the iPhone/iPad version have no problem in this regard, the Mac version collects all open windows and places them on the main desktop, a huge problem if youre dealing with many open windows or a specific workflow. Heres hoping its just a bug to be fixed in the next version!
Full screen mode on OSX is useless if you dont have the same screen aspect ratio as the one you are sharing with. Sharing my desktop computer with my macbook air and entering full screen simply zooms in a cuts the top and bottom of the screen off! The built in screen sharing in OSX doesnt do this, it leaves a border around the edge. I thought this would be worth the $20 for ease of use over sharing in OSX but so far I havent found anything that would tell me thats the case. Wish I hadnt bothered.
Every version I check to see if theyve fixed this. I need the back tick (the one that shares the key with tilde on typical English keyboards) for work. Every other VNC viewer works fine except this one.
Using it all the time to control our monitoring big screen tv at work running on Ubuntu. It makes it easy and quick to connect to saved connections. Once connected, it works so naturaly and flawlessly. Screen panning, resizing and multiple screen selection is better on this VNC client. Good job on this one !
Does everything you could want in a clean and easy way.
Worked as expected, it is fast. The image quality is good.
THIS UPGRADE IS NON-FUNCTIONAL. This used to work perfectly for me, but no longer works at all since the latest upgrade (3.7.1.). Whenever it connects to the remote desktop now, the app crashes immediately. I have another computer on which I haven’t upgraded, and it still works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. No joy. DO NOT UPGRADE.
前のバージョンだと、LinuxのXに対するVNCでシフトキーが一部効かない問題がありましたが、今バージョンで修正いただいたようです。問題なく使えています。おすすめです。 Previous version has a problem that when you connect a Linux system, you cannot use shift key, but this version has fixed. No problem.
Please add support change to Russian keyboard layout while connecting to Windows host
This app doens’t work and when you contact the developer for a refund, they say: Contact Apple. Don’t buy !! Waste of money and their support is just kicking the can down the road. In other words, nothing. Not happy.
I have tried to revise my poor recommendation of this program as further reading suggest that the issue I am having in Windoze 8.1 of the background turning all black is a bug in Windoze 8.1 Still….I do not have this problem with competing remote solutions. bc
I bought and used the iOS version during an emergency server issue while on the road (remembered a recommendation on Daring Fireball). I thought it would be good enough to get the job done and nothing more. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how well thought out the application was. I am using it on my iPad regularly because it is often more convenient than walking over and grabbing my MBP. With the iCloud sync, I actually stopped using Screen Sharing and just got the Mac version as well. Really everything you would want from a VNC package. Highly recommended on OS X and iOS
Fail on the mac. It just keeps crashing every time i try to log in to screens connect. Lame. Please fix
The developer sent the update to this many days ago… its been on hold for a while and in review for last 5 days by apple… major bug… basically makes it useless… cant believe I spend money on this… so sad… the system for review is making the developer look bad…
